About

"Yet each man kills the thing he loves" Oscar Wilde, 1898

There is nothing better than being successful, admired, comfortable, one of the privileged few. Is there?  We all want to belong, to fit in, to be amongst the people we call friends.

The Story of Friends explores the interweaving hopes and tragedies of such a group. We see what happens when the need to present perfection to the outside world masks an inner reality that is cruel, pained, without a soul.

This play celebrates the wonder of friendship from the childhood bonds that can never be broken to the mutuality of successful teamwork.

With friendship comes love and with love the inevitable sacrifice. Here, whether the characters find the courage to keep the status quo alive or to force the patterns of behaviour to change, the bravest do it in the name of love.

Following a successful rehearsed reading live on Zoom in 2021, The Story of Friends will come to the stage soon. Please check the website for dates.
